At times, it’s important to experiment. SEA gallery came together with that in mind — a tumblr gallery I used to throw photoshop experiments on the web quickly and regularly. These are a few of the posts I made at a time when I was obsessed with layer, grain, and texture.
Artomatic is a “multi-week, multimedia arts event held in the Washington, D.C. area.” In 2009, I devoted many hours developing a series of five, large-scale prints to be displayed in the empty office building that the event was held in. My efforts paid off, and I was awarded a prize from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities for one of my pieces. Sadly, the net does not do the size of the pieces justice — some of them were printed seven feet in length.
A sampling of work from my personal sketchbook. I typically work in mixed media to finish a page — I’ve never been one to stick with pencil and pen to complete something. If it hasn’t been mutilated, painted over, and glued on, it’s not done!
